Meet Ka and Lao Yang of Clark's Farm!
Ka and Lao Yang are an epically hardworking duo. The couple independently farms ten acres of mixed vegetables and flowers in Winder, Georgia. Their skill and care is reflected in their beautiful produce, which pops with color you can spot from across the market. Ka grew up on a farm in Minnesota and moved to Georgia when she married her husband Lao. For her, farming the Georgia clay was challenging at first, but she and her husband have adapted to the soil, making it very productive with composting and ecological practices. Ka and Lao have three children, ages ten, eight and seven, who often join them at the farmer's market. Ka tells me that although farming is challenging, she wouldn't do anything else and she cares about bringing the freshest, healthiest vegetables to the community. Look out for Ka and Lao Yang's kirby cucumbers and zucchini, which are a customer favorite!
Be sure to like them on Facebook. Their page is under construction : )
