Health News ~ Vitamin B12 as Protection for the Aging Brain

Recipe Corner ~ Asian Grilled Lamb Chops

Dear Atlanta,
If you have a few minutes to spare, check out this entertaining video from Gigi Eats Celebrities. In the video, Gigi creates a burger recipe she dubs "The Burgeron" in honor of her guest chef, Tom Bergeron, the host of popular reality show "Dancing With The Stars". The burger looks delicious and we are excited that it combines three of our meats; ground beef, ground lamb, and pasture-raised ground chicken.  If you want the recipe visit her blog page and scroll to the bottom.

Lamb is a fantastic choice if you are looking for great-tasting alternative protein sources. Some of our favorite cuts include the lamb kabobs, lamb rib chops, and ground lamb.  And substituting lamb for your traditional proteins like beef and chicken can be a creative way to freshen up those standby meals your family no longer gets excited about.  If you need some inspiration, check out these delicious recipes on our grass-fed lamb pinterest page, or see our Recipe Corner below for Asian Grilled Lamb Chops from past featured chef Gabriella Schneider.

Grass-Fed Lamb is the featured category for the week, so find a recipe to your liking, and then take advantage of the 15% discount.  Enter the promo code "FLEECE" in your cart before Saturday, October 8th, 12:00 Midnight CST to secure your savings. Discount only applies to the Grass-Fed Lamb category items on orders less than 40 lbs.  (Excludes sale items, volume discounts, and gift certificates)

Sometimes it can be challenging to navigate which vitamins are most essential to support us in the aging process.  This short but informative article outlines some of the brain protecting benefits of vitamin B12, in addition to tips on who needs it and how much is too much.

October's Featured Chef is Jessica (Jay) DeMay.  She is the inspiration behind the great recipes at Jays Baking Me Crazy, where she shares her passion for cooking and her special flair for baking (the paleo desserts look outstanding).  To learn more about Jessica check out her interview, and then visit her recipe page.

Thanks to Gabriella Schneider at Beyond the Bite for this tasty Lamb Chops recipe that keeps the grill inspiration going- it's not snowing yet!

"Prepared in an Asian marinade and full of juicy fat, this dish includes all of my favorite aspects of food piled into one.  Honestly, I'd rather have a cut of meat accompanied by a thick slab of fat over a baked good any day.  I served my chops alongside two heads of sauteed local swiss chard, as the dish is so satisfying there is really no need to make anything else to go with it!"
