Camps and an Open Field Trip Day Coming Up!
PUBLIC FIELD TRIP DAY DURING SPRING BREAK
If you are having a staycation and your school or homeschool doesn't come to Rancho Alegre Farm here is your chance to attend a field trip! All are welcome!
Date: Thursday, April 6, 2017 Tickets are $9 per person Time: 9:30 a.m. - The guided field trip tour lasts for 1 1/2-2 hours
Learn about Rancho Alegre and visit 6 stations! You'll visit our gardens, learn about worm composting, pet and groom and pony, milk a goat, visit the petting zoo, and hop on a hay ride! After the tour children may have a pony ride for an extra $5.00 which you can pre-book with your tickets or pay in cash the day of. We welcome you to bring your lunch and eat under one of our pavilions after the tour.
Campers will get hands on experience with the many animals at Rancho Alegre Farm. Meet the newest members at the farm – our baby goats born just this month and even get a chance to milk our goats. We'll some yummy cheese using our goat's milk, feed the animals, groom a pony and do a fun farm craft!
Date: Friday March 10, 2017 Time:9-12 am Cost: $15 per Child and $10 per parent
Space is limited so don't wait! Parents can stay with their child and participate in the activities or children can be dropped off and picked up!
SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION IS OPENED
Our summer camp dates are here and registration is opened! Kids ages 4-12 will have a blast at our summer farm camps!
Dates: June 5 - 7 and July 10 - 12 Garden Adventures at Rancho Alegre June 19 - 21 and July 24 - 26 Animal Adventures at Rancho Alegre Time: 9 - 12 each day Cost is $99 per child. Max 20 participants each week.
Campers will get hands-on learning about our gardens and how we care for our own dirt at Rancho Alegre! Campers will learn how we maintain our gardens naturally, free from pesticides and fertilizers and how they can garden at home. We will cook using items from our garden, take nature walks, create some arts and crafts, perform science experiments, and many more fun activities.
Campers will feed and care for all our animals each day. They will milk our goats, learn about goats milk, and make yummy cheese from their milk! Campers will help collect fresh eggs and learn how to take care of chickens, roosters, and baby chicks. We will groom, ride, and even bathe our horses. Your child will learn all about animal safety and will see what living on a farm is really like! We will also take nature walks, create some animal arts and crafts, perform science experiments, and many more fun activities.
From Gardening and Homesteading to DIY Soaps, Lotions and more we are planning some great workshops this year. They will be hosted here at the farm. Some will be hands on and others will be more information based.
