Hi Atlanta,

We had such a great time at our annual FundRAISERs and the Weston A. Price Foundation's Wise Traditions Conference in Minneapolis! We are eternally thankful for our sponsors, food donors, and volunteers who helped make it all happen. Read below for a recap from the event.

Also included in this week's News Digest is the FTCLDF's response to the arrest of Michael Schmidt in Canada.

FundRAISERs Recap
The FTCLDF team had a wonderful time at our annual FundRAISER Reception in Minneapolis last week. During the Thursday evening Reception, attendees enjoyed nutrient-dense food from small family farms, like North Star Bison's Roasted Marrow Bones with Gremolata, StoneBridge Beef Liver Paté with Mushrooms, and Miller's Organic Farm assorted cheeses, all washed down with Buchi kombucha. FTCLDF board member, Judith McGeary, awarded the very surprised Pete Kennedy, FTCLDF President from 2008-2016, the first ever Distinguished Service Award for his work defending food freedom over the past decade. Alvin Schlangen delivered a member testimonial, and to end the evening FTCLDF member David Berglund of Lakeview Natural Dairy received the Never-A-Doormat Award for his tenacity defending his multi-generation farm in Minnesota. At the FundRAISER Breakfasts, we started each morning with delicious donated bone broth from Fields of Athenry Farm (volunteers Chris, Monica, and Elaine pictured).

We are extremely grateful to our generous sponsors, food donors, and volunteers for help with our FundRAISERs in Minneapolis last weekend. We couldn't have done it without them!
Canadian Farmer Sentenced to 60 Days in Jail
Michael Schmidt is a Canadian farmer and food freedom activist who has been fighting to sell raw milk for 24 years. Schmidt, an owner of Glencolton Farms along with 150 other families, have been subjected to the all-too-familiar harassment and interference that characterizes some government agencies' enforcement against raw milk producers.
