Heritage Farm -- A message from your farmers...Please read!!
As we come down to the end of another growing season our hearts and minds are turned toward the expressions of gratitude and love of the season. We always like to take this time of the year to express to you all how much we appreciate and value the support and friendships we have built with all of you that contribute week in and week out to our well being and prosperity!! A great big thank you from us to you!!
We know that supporting a small family farm is not always easy. Lord knows we make our share of mistakes and errors and we thank you for bearing with us through those times. We are constantly striving for ways to build better infrastructure, delivery and packing methods and such to help minimize these occurrences. We hope and pray that at the end of the day you have found it to be a worthy and beneficial investment of your time and money.
Though the end of the season is drawing near our need for your continued support remains. Unlike a lot of farms, both large and small, we have chosen to run and attempt to grow our business without the use of bank loans or government grants. We depend solely on profits, private investment support and consumer investments in our farm products to sustain operations and growth.
Wintertime is a real challenge for us because the majority of our revenue streams dry up for about 4 months and yet our operational cost, while somewhat lower, still far surpass our revenue streams during the winter months. We have to keep our staff working, our supplies and materials coming, our livestock growing, our repairs made, our bills paid and get stocked and ready for the upcoming growing season. It is a challenge to say the least but not one we are wholly unprepared for. We do budget and plan as much as possible but it does create some really lean operating times in some cases.
As in most seasons past our solution to this is to offer up our CSA and Farm share sales in an "Early Bird" mode whereby, those of you that are willing and able, can go ahead and sign up for the upcoming season. These investments are a saving grace for our farm livelihood and allow us to meet all our financial needs as well as plan for our upcoming infrastructure improvements, planting, fertilizing, soil treatment, seed procurement, livestock purchases and, Lord willing, expansion into greater market coverage and better service.
To that end we wanted to let you know that the 2018 Early Bird Sales are underway now. If you know you want to participate in 2018 and are able to make the commitment now we would love to have your early support. All the available items are listed here>> CSA's and Farm Shares and please feel free to email if there are any questions. We will endeavor to do our very best to give you the best the farm has to offer in 2018!
Again we thank you for all you do for our farm family and wish you all an upcoming Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
