Healthy Eating Simplified Series
Sue is passionate about showing you how easy (and delicious) it is to eat healthy foods. Her 7 Easy Steps to a Healthy Lifestyle are not only easy, but also very rewarding. Incorporating "Real Bread" into a diet consisting of other real foods can bring noticeably improved health.
Sue will expose the myths of what is healthy and what is not and present the truth in an easy to implement style. Great information and great food each week. This is a four part series-each week will build off the previous lesson.
February 15 - 6:30 to 9:00pm at the Bread Beckers. Steps 4 & 5 - Not only will Sue show you scientifically why you need to eat more fruits and veggies and get rid of junk food, but also great ways to cook (and even sneak) more fruits and veggies into your food, as well as alternatives to the junk food.
February 22 - 6:30 to 9:00pm at the Bread Beckers.Steps 6 & 7 - The last two steps tie up Healthy Eating Simplified, and after Sue teaches on how exercise and rest influence your overall health, she'll cook a full meal for you that encompasses all the previous steps.
We will introduce you to the world of milling your own grains and making all your own breads. We will start from "scratch" and discuss all the necessary baking ingredients and types of wheat and equipment needed to make this lifestyle change not only possible but doable! We will demonstrate milling flour, mixing quick breads, kneading bread dough, shaping the dough, making quick cereals, and even tortillas. And best of all - you get to taste everything we make!!

With all the negative information concerning grains published today, Sue will bring a timely message on the truth about wheat and grains. She will share the history of white flour and its effects on our health, as she discusses the correlation of the bread we eat and common health issues that plaque most of us. Her 7 steps to healthy living are both easy and practical. Sue will have some books and bread (from Real Bread Co.) for sale.

This class will help you gain the confidence and know-how to begin making your own gluten free breads and rolls. Join us for a time of baking, sampling, and lots of helpful information. Delicious gluten free foods can be prepared fresh at home for less! Freshly milled gluten free (GF) flours contain all of the naturally occurring fiber and are much more nutritious than prepared bags of GF flour. Along with GF grains, beans, and ingredients, the Zojirushi bread machine, Ankarsrum Mixer, and three of our cookbooks will be highlighted. The necessary ingredients and supplies are available here for your convenience.
Biscuits, Bagels, & English Muffins

Are you ready to move beyond basic bread and muffins? Come join Sue for this new class as she shares how easy it is to savor the flavors of biscuits, bagels and English Muffins with all the trimmings. Don't be intimidated. These breads are super easy to make. There is no need to compromise health when enjoying these favorite breads. Sue will change up the flavor by adding herbs and cheese to her Easy Drop Biscuits and her Lemon Blueberry Biscuits are "over-the-top" delicious. Her "Everything Bagel" with "In a Jam" cream cheese spread and English Muffins with Easy Homemade Raspberry Jam will soon become family favorites.
Co-ops are a great way to get your grains and other supplies that are just too expensive to ship any other way. Current co-op shipping rates range from 12 cents to 15 cents per pound when we deliver on our own truck, compared to UPS rates that can be around 60 cents a pound!
