Carlton Farms Newsletter

At Carlton Farms, we humanely and organically utilize domestic animals on grass to produce the nutritious food we provide for our community.
Delivery News
Milk and Egg Supply
We went through a rough period of low production late last year, as small farms are prone to do. I am proud to say that milk and egg supply is back to normal levels. Enjoy all the Raw Milk for Pets and Pasture raised eggs you want.
Wintertime is very sporadic for vegetable production, but this week we have another bountiful harvest. We will again offer a limited number of veggie shares for this week. This is not a reoccurring order and could serve as a way for you to "try out" the veggie share concept. We expect this weeks share to include:
Napa Cabbage, Bok Choy, Radishes, Spinach, Carrots, Collards, Hakuri Salad turnips, Kale.
Our Last batch of 2018 Chickens went to the processor a couple of weeks ago. They are posted online now. We have boneless breast, drumsticks, thighs, wings, feet, bones, and organs.

Finding a Private delivery group:
I am so excited about building more Private Group Delivery Locations. This is a hybrid between home delivery and pick-up locations. It makes delivery more efficient for us because we can drop several orders at one location. It also make the cost of delivery less for the customer for the same reason. One comment we heard often last week about the Private Group deliveries was: I'd be glad to host or be a part of a private group, but I don't know how to find others in my area. Because of privacy issues we cant just share the address of private delivery hosts. However, we will be posting a map here each week of locations where we have a private drop established, or where there are people interested. If one of those locations will work for you then let us know. We will send your info to the host and y'all can take it from there. We will probably hone this system over time, but my hope is that it will serve as a way to create more of a community around our local food system. I think we could all benefit form a support network of people in our communities that think and eat the way we do.

Just Continue with the blog

I've been thinking about expanding what I usually do in this "On the Farm" space weekly. The expansion would be to create a Audio podcast, or possible even a live video segment similar to the type of article I write here each week. So, the question is: which type of content would you prefer? Please respond to the poll.

Also, In case you didn't know. We archive all of my "On the Farm" articles in blog form. You can find those on our website. Click here to read our Blog, "Shooting the Bull".
